Most of us at one time or another have been driving, unaware that our pink insurance card was expired, or it was misplaced completely. Getting pulled over only to find out that you don’t have proof of insurance can cost up $ $65.00 in accordance with the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. This ticket also stays on your driving record for three years. Depending on your insurer this can cost you between $100 and $200 per year even if you have no prior infractions.

As of Sept 6th 2019 the Government of Ontario now allows drivers to use digital pink liability cards, as proof of insurance. This change allows drivers to access their liability card much easier, because let’s be real, who doesn’t carry their phone 24/7?
What information does an Ontario insurance liability card contain?
A vehicle liability insurance card is a legal document designed to serve as proof of insurance.
The information on this card includes:
- Your name and address
- The name and address of your insurance company
- The name and address of your agent/broker
- Information about the insured vehicle
- The policy number
- Effective date and term of the policy
How does the Excalibur Dashboard App work?
The Excalibur Dashboard App is a free smart phone app which connects you directly into your insurance information, so after you view your liability card on your phone, our server automatically sends you an email with a PDF version of your pink liability card – with the option of adding it to your phone’s virtual wallet.

Report Auto Insurance Claims: The app easily allows you to report auto insurance claims in seconds. It prompts you to choose the vehicle and driver involved, report the time, date, and location of the incident, and add pictures of the damages. Then once the claim is submitted your broker will contact you.
Update your Insurance Coverage: This allows you to make quick changes to your coverage, 24/7.
Add Vehicles or Drivers: In just a few simple questions, the app allows you to add drivers and vehicles to your account.
Contact Excalibur Insurance: The app will automatically load the Excalibur Insurance and broker contact information – to make communication faster and easier.
