Orangeville, Ontario was named after Orange Lawrence – a colourfully named settler who moved from Connecticut in 1844 and became a catalyst for the town’s development. Colourful history! In 2015, The Canadian Institute of Planners named Orangeville’s Broadway Street as the “Great Street” in its annual Great Places in Canada contest. Great! Orangeville is the home town of retired WWE Hall of Fame wrestler, Edge (real name Adam Joseph Copeland) whose finishing move was The Spear, which also became his catchphrase. Spear!
Orange You Glad You Came?
This premier jazz and blues festival has been around for almost 20 years, and for good reason. Each summer, the festival attracts premium acts, big crowds, and injects over $1 million into the local economy.

Orangeville is home to no less than 35 parks! The town also features over 20 kilometres of trails that link to the Island Lake Conservation Area.

Orangeville is a centre for culture. The historic Orangeville Opera House occupies the Town Hall’s second floor and is home to Theatre Orangeville. Meanwhile, Orangeville’s Art Walk of Tree Sculptures features more than 50 beautiful sculptures carved from old maple trees that died of natural causes.
