King City, Ontario was founded in 1890, when James Whiting Crossley merged the hamlets of Springhill, Kinghorn, Laskay, and Eversley. United! With its rolling hills, clustered temperate King City is the home town for former NHL goaltending king, Curtis Joseph. Known as Cujo – after the Stephen King novel featuring a snarling dog – Joseph had the face of just such an animal painted on his distinctive goalie mask. Grrr!

Take in Some Cricket
King City’s Maple Leaf Cricket Club was established in 1954 and houses no less than five cricket grounds. The northwest ground is one of the few grounds in Canada to be approved for One Day Internationals and has become Cricket Canada’s main facility for international matches.
Get Out and Walk
With its rolling hills, dotted lakes, and meandering streams, there is no better way to explore King City’s rural charms than to get out for a good hike. The King City Trail offers bridges, boardwalks and stepping stones to provide safe passage, while a portion of the extensive Oak Ridges Trail also passes through King City.
Get Cultured
King City has lots of history to share. Attractions from yesteryear include Eaton Hall – a century-old home once owned by Lord and Lady Eaton; King Township Museum; and Mary Lake Augustinian Monastery.
