Have a Fashion Show

Your kids may want a new outfit for the first day, but before you go willy-nilly to the store, find out what still fits after the summer. A fashion show is also the perfect way to get your kids excited about going back to school.

Start a List

Not for you, for them. Tape a page to the back of each kid’s door and ask them to write down what they need as they think of it. That way when you need to come up with a master list you’re not starting from scratch.

Have a Bake Off

Having your kids decide what they want to make for their own lunches takes the onus of meal planning off you. If creates a fun (if messy) competition for whose cookies are the best, the chocolate chip or the oatmeal raisin.

Racing out the Door

Set up a race the day before school starts to see who can pack their bag and have their shoes on first. The morning of the first day, they’ll be practiced and ready.

Plan an Adventure

Soon the kids will be back in school, and going out for ice cream, or to the movies as a family will be too hectic. Enjoy the summer together before it’s gone.
