Our Children’s Novel – Artie The Good Knight Coming Soon - Artie The Good Knight

We are publishing a children’s book!

Last year, we started writing a novel for 8 to 12-year-olds about a young girl named Artie who finds a magical sword in her attic that transports her to another world filled with castles, knights, and monsters.

The idea of writing a children’s book has been on our minds for many years at Excalibur. We believe that “leaders are readers,” so we wanted to create a powerful story about finding confidence in yourself and building friendships that can withstand great challenges.

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months!

Insurance Partner Spotlight: CAA Insurance

Introducing our “Insurance Partner Spotlight,” a new segment in our newsletter that will feature our company partners! Since we work with over 40 of Canada’s Top Insurers, our goal is for our clients to better understand the options and speciality products that we have available for them. This month’s spotlight is on our newest insurance partner, the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA).CAA has been an industry leader for over 100 years, advocating for improved traffic safety, transportation infrastructure, and consumer protection. Nearly 80 years after CAA first began offering insurance to its members, they pivoted in 2015 to allow brokers to sell their products.Excalibur Insurance is proud to be one of the select brokers in our region to represent CAA, which offers competitive rates for customers with clean driving records and at least 10 years of driving experience. You can learn more about CAA here.

Does a Photo Radar Ticket Affect Insurance? Does Getting a Photo Radar Ticket Affect Insurance?

Photo radar is a newer practice in Ontario. The Highway Traffic Act permitted “automated speed enforcement” in school zones and community safety areas. Photo radars are cameras programmed to detect the speed of moving vehicles. If a vehicle is deemed to be speeding, the camera will take a picture of that vehicle’s license plate. These cameras do not require a police officer or operator to function and work entirely remotely. Does getting a photo radar ticket affect your insurance the same way any other moving violations would if a police officer pulled you over? We explain in our latest blog.
