Excalibur’s Defender of Honour Program
Our Defender of Honour Program is back for the 9th year!
We’re thrilled to partner with the OHL’s London Knights to share our appreciation for those who have served our country. Returning for the 2023/24 season, this program will also recognize frontline workers who bravely serve and protect our community year after year.
If you know a veteran or a frontline worker, please click the link below to nominate them as a Defender of Honour. If chosen, they will receive two tickets to a London Knights home game and a moment of recognition for their service.

Excalibur’s Summer Staff Party
Summer is quickly winding down, so we needed to make the most of it by having our annual Excalibur Summer Party!
The team had an absolute blast learning how to lawn bowl (it’s more difficult than it looks!). A big thank you to the Clinton Lawn Bowling Club for teaching us the ropes! Proud to report that there were no serious injuries while our team was on the bowling green.
Thank you to the Huron Fish & Game Club for hosting us for dinner and drinks afterwards, along with Pineridge Barbecue Co. for catering dinner and desserts.
And, of course, a big thank you to our wonderful Excalibur team! It’s a joy to work with such hardworking, dedicated, and outstanding individuals who work tirelessly every day to uplift each other and take care of our clients!
Nominate a Classroom for Read to Ride
Excalibur’s Read to Ride Program is back for a 3rd year!
We hope back to school went well for all of the families out there!
Attention Grade 3 or 4 Teachers: We’re looking for classrooms to participate in the Read to Ride program for Winter 2024.
We will be selecting 3 classrooms in Ontario to participate in Read to Ride. We launched our Read to Ride program with the goal of helping children sharpen their reading skills by encouraging regular practice with fun incentives (ballots, pizza parties, new bikes) along the way.
Ultimately, we hope the Read to Ride program helps children develop more confidence in their reading skills and themselves.
You can apply here. Submissions for Read to Ride Winter 2024 close on Friday, November 17, 2023.
Can You Get Home Insurance If You Have Space Heaters?
Space heaters, while a popular option for heating homes in the chilly Canadian wintertime, are responsible for starting a huge percentage of residential fires. Prior to the safety features that the Canadian Safety Association (CSA) placed on modern space heaters, more than 25,000 residential fires each year were associated with the use of space heaters because they are a large ignition source.
If a fire did start as a result of a space heater, would your home insurance company cover you for the damages?
